Help Rebuild After Hurricane Melissa: Support Miriam Bailey and Her Family

My name is Justin Ko, and I’m the owner of Son of Egg, a small community-based restaurant in Rensselaer, New York. One of our valued team members, Garth Bailey, has family in Jamaica who were directly impacted by the devastating Hurricane Melissa. His mother, Miriam Bailey, lost nearly everything when the storm tore through their community.

“Help my mother, Miriam Bailey, rebuild her home after Hurricane Melissa's devastation in Jamaica.

My mother's home in Ffyes Pen District, Cambridge, St. Elizabeth was completely destroyed by the passage of Hurricane Melissa, leaving her without a safe place to live. Her roof is gone, the majority of the house was blown away, and all her furniture was lost. She's lost everything and desperately needs our help.

Your contribution will go directly towards rebuilding her home and providing her with the essentials she needs. Every little bit counts, whether it's sharing this post or donating. Let's come together to help my mother get back on her feet.

Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.”

We are raising funds to help Miriam rebuild her home and restore stability after this devastating loss.

How the Funds Will Be Used

All funds raised will go directly to Miriam Bailey through her son, Garth Bailey, to cover:

- Building materials and repairs (roof, walls, structure)

- Replacement of basic home items (furniture, bedding, kitchen essentials)

- Temporary housing and transportation costs

- Essential living expenses (food, clean water, and supplies)

We’ve set a goal of $100,000 to help her recover, rebuild, and create a safe place to call home again.

❤️ Our Commitment

As the organizer, I will personally oversee the transfer of funds to Miriam through her son and provide updates as progress is made on the rebuilding efforts. Transparency is very important to us - we will keep donors informed every step of the way with photos and updates.

Thank you for standing with us and showing love and solidarity during this difficult time. Every share and donation helps more than you can imagine.
